There is a relatively new attraction in Bunbury that will be of interest to motoring enthusiasts from all over W.A. and beyond.

The Bunbury Geographe Motor Museum has been set up by car collectors in the south west and it is an excellent showcase of veteran and vintage cars and motorbikes.

The museum has a number of classic 70s muscle cars including Valiants, Fords and Holdens.

For those of us who grew up in that era, this is a real trip down memory lane.

There are quite a few older vehicles including a 1929 Auburn which I have to say is my personal favourite. I have rarely seen anything on 4 wheels that is cooler than that beautifully restored vehicle.

I look on those who restore old vehicles as somewhat heroic. The task of restoration can be somewhat frustrating and you have to have deep pockets and a lot of patience.

Some of these vehicles in the museum were discovered rusting away on farms and the work needed to get them back into such amazing condition must have been phenomenal.

The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. Entry is just $10 a head for adults and $5 for children over 12. Children under 12 are admitted free.

The museum is located on Wellington Street in the heart of the Bunbury CBD.

Parking is usually easy and at the time of filming there are no parking fees for the first 2 hours.

Apart from the cars and motorbikes, there is also a collection of motoring memorabilia to explore.

The museum is a real credit to all those involved and an attraction that we highly recommend those with even the slightest interest in our motoring history, check out.
