DESCRIPTION

The old mill site is located about 18 Km south of Dwellingup and is now part of Lane Poole Reserve.

A timber mill operated on the site for many years and the first mill burned down in suspicious circumstances in 1941. A smaller mill was built but that too was eventually destroyed by fire.

The area was devastated by fire in 1961 and was never re-built. There is now a campsite where the town once stood.

Campfires are permitted between April 15 and November 30 but fire restrictions may be imposed at any time and without notice.

The site is available on a 'first come, first served' basis and bookings cannot be made.

Swimming is allowed in Nanga Brook.

The campsite is 10.5 kilometres from the park entry station and roads are suitable for 2wd vehicles.
