Mondy, pronounced 'mun-dee', is the new name for what used to be known as kalamunda Regional Park. The name commemorates a leader of
the Beelu people who lived during Europen colonisation of Western Australia.
The first stage of the Bibbulmun Track runs through the park and other walk trails wander through the
open woodland of jarrah, marri, wandoo and butter gum which is most popular with visitors during late winter and spring when the wildflowers
are at their best.
The park is only 25 kilometres from Perth and encompasses Piesse Brook.
Access to the park is from Fern, Spring or Schipp Roads as well as from Beelu National Park or Jorgensen Reserve. Although located right next
to the heart of Kalamunda, the park is one of the least visited in the hills areas close to Perth.
There are few facilities in the park and the bush walks are the main reason people venture into the 375 ha. area. The closest public toilets
are located on the southern boundary of the park at Jorgensen Reserve.
Apart from the Bibbulmun Track, other walks in the park include Schipp Road Walk, West Terrace Loop Walk and Rocky Pool Walk.
One of the most popular walks in the Park is Whistlepipe Gully where the track winds along beside a
gentle stream with a number of attractive pools. There is also the ruins of the Wallace Greenham house part way along the trail. (See

There are many bird species resident in the park but you may also see Kangaroo, echidna and bandicoot.
