Cliff Head is located south of Dongara on the Indian Ocean Drive.

There are three areas, Cliff Head North, Cliff Head and Cliff Head South.

Cliff Head North was re-developed in 2017 and the entrance to that area has been moved further north. Access from Cliff Head to Cliff Head North is no longer possible as the track has been washed away by winter storms.

Cliff Head South has also been re-developed and there are toilets, seats, tables, shelters, BBQ etc available.

Cliff Head South is much more attractive than Cliff Head North but if you are looking for a quiet spot, the northen site is not as popular as it once was.

There is a time limit of 72 hours at the campsite and fees have now been introduced for overnight stays.

Activities at the site include fishing, walking and boating.

The Shire of Irwin is doing an excellent job catering for travellers so please thank them and the local community by purchasing products locally.

72 hour general campsites are located at Cliff Head, Knobby Head and Fresh Water Point. There is NO LONGER a 72 hour campsite for self contained RVs at Seven Mile Beach and the to Dongara Town Oval on Waldeck Street is now only used as an overflow site when the caravan parks are full. There is still a black water dump point at that location.

From the Shire of Irwin website :

"Self Contained Vehicles must carry a minimum of 20 litres of fresh water, have waste (grey) water holding tank with minimum capacity of five litres per person or 15 litres per person if the vehicle is fitted with a shower, and have a portable toilet cassette, all waste must be retained within the confines of the vehicle and nothing released to ground."
