Formerly known as Kelmscott-Martin Regional Park, it was re-named Banyowla after a Nyoongar elder who lived during the time of Europen colonisation.

Visitor facilites including picnic areas are available at Ellis Brook Valley (access from Rushton Road). Otherwise there are no facilities in the main part of the park.

The Sixty Foot Falls walking trail (loop) is 1.9km and is steep in places. A spur runs off this trail to the foot of the falls but that is a much more difficult trail.

The falls are best visited at the end of winter and in early spring when the wildflowers are blooming and the falls are running. During summer there is usually no water running at all.

Car park and picnic facilities are available at Honeyeater Hollow.
